£10 Plywood Tool Tote!

For all 10MW Plus members

In this one I’m making a simple little plywood tool tote with a twist - the bottom tray can be left behind, or with literally a 180 turn it can be picked up in the stack, and the whole things fits in a t-loc systainer, too. Enjoy!

I haven't made anything for myself for ages, and this looks like a great little handy project. Useful for all those little jobs around the house that don't require a massive tool bag full of tools 😀

I don't have any systainer's to put it in, but it looks too good to hide away anyway 😁

Thanks Colin! They really are a handy little thing to have - the systainer angle was just for transport ‘in the stack’ tbh, it needed in general use. 👍👍

Very cool tote. I made a single box 1000 (internet) years ago in what we in the US call 'Jr. High School', your Middle School. It's held up quite well and I still us it in my shop to hold 'stuff' when I'm working. If I were to build this tote, I'd use the same rabbeted corner join that original box of mine used. And because I want an excuse to use that joint again. Ha ha. Again, nice idea for the build.

P.S. That small box and a large (about 48 inches) tall walnut curio cabinet that is still going strong, also made in that same Jr. High shop class, is what got (ahem, shamed) me into getting bac…

Great story James, thanks for sharing!

Absolutely love the tote. I’m going to make a couple of these for the kids. They are both slowly building up their tool kits and this is way better than a plastic box from B&Q.
