For all 10MW Plus members*
Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good week and are having a great weekend!
A productive week for me - in the end, at least! I want to say thanks again to Karl for the suggestion of adding a rebate to the QuadFence; this worked out really well and with a little bit of tweaking to the actual sizing I don’t see any reason not to include it in the final design.
Delighted too to be able to finally try out the 10MW MFT custom bit; I’ll put a link to AWITW 141 down below where I first talked about the MFT jig - and yes, it really was that long ago!
I need to test the bit out with other routers to be 100% sure, but the sizing hasn’t changed, just the type of bit, so I doing see what there should be any problems. As I say in the video, I haven’t had any discussions about costings or anything with Johnny Rennie as yet, but I don’t think it’ll be outrageous - we’ll see, anyway!
The main thing is that I finally have a bit that seems to be the correct size, and cuts cleanly; the rest we can discuss!
And just FYI, I’m sat in my office typing this to the background sounds of a BambuLabs P1s - first test pan scraper came out nicely, though oddly a little undersized, so I’m doing a couple more that are scaled up, just because I can!
Thanks everyone, for your amazing sup[port, and I’ll catch you in the midweek!
Peter

Excellent news on 3 fronts! Good to hear you’re on the mend with your thumb, hang in there.
The additional cut aways for the quad fence is a brilliant idea and I love that you seem to have sorted out the router bit. I eagerly await Wednesdays’ update.
What is the diameter of the Router bit shank? You always have inches on the island 😉
I have a router bit from ENT here and I'm quite happy with it. I've often used it to extend the hole pattern.
Wonderful video, glad to make more use of tack saw guide.
Carl that is a genius idea, I love simple engineering ideas that you would have expected to have been incorporated ages ago.
I am really excited about this fence now. 😃😃
