Drill Angled Holes with a Dowel Jig! [member edit]

For all 10MW Plus members

In this one I'm just going to go quickly through the process of drilling holes at a precise angle so that those holes are also centred on a line, and all I use is a basic dowel jig and a little lateral thinking.  Enjoy!

Thanks Niraj! Easiest way I've found to do it! 👍

@2:13 'I'm cutting the bevel on the ends to the angle we want...'. Any tips on how to align that board end underneath your track saw to both just the right angle and only just enough of the end to get the job done? You fiddled with it, but I must have missed the 'align the end under your cutting guide so that ...'.

Thanks in advance.

It's like any square cut James; I have the board agaist a pair of bench dogs - you see them in the wider shot when I flip the board over - and the edge of the workpiece needs to just touch the edge odf the splinterguard, assuming your saw stays true to the splinterguard when it's canted over on a bevel. If it doesnt then you can just edge the workpiece out from uner the rail until it's in just the right place for the cut. 👍

Others need sinfully expensive aids for such things.

This shows your genius once again 🍾🥂

Thanks Michael! As I say if you do it a lot then an angled drillingguide is the way to go, bu for the odd one-off then this works well. 👍
