I’ve had the Festool CSC SYS50 trim saw for a coupe of months now and in this shorter vlog-style video I’m passing along my thoughts so far.
TL;DR - it’s great, and has done everything I’ve asked of it. There’s a couple of niggles; the batteries seem to drain at different rates - not bluetooth related - and while I’ve become a convert of all the digital up & down goodness, it emphasises how much the fence could do with a micro-adjust. And a power cord…

Hi Peter I have an after thought following my post here. Is there a book you would recommend that takes you through the basics of woodworking and joints etc. Would be happy to purchase it through your Amazon site etc.
Great to hear your updated thoughts, Peter, now you‘ve had a few months to use it properly.
My workshop is about half the size of yours and I had a more traditional DeWalt contractor’s saw shoe-horned into it. There just wasn’t enough room to use it properly so I found myself constantly avoiding it for that reason.
Your table saw video at the start of the year persuaded me to upgrade to the CSC-SYS-50 and I‘m so glad I did! Everything you’ve said about it matches my experience (including the small negatives). The quality of cut and ease of use, for such a small package, is fantastic and it was very easy to integrate into my workflow.

Thank you Peter, for a very good video about this saw.
There are no Festool dealers up here in North Wales, so I am unable to actually go and visit one and try things out, relying instead, on online reviews, in order to make buying decisions. I always get a lot of information from your videos, which is one of the reasons why I invested in this brand, as it is like I am sitting there with you, without distracting music, high speed shaky video and other elements that make watching other videos rather tedious. It is good to see you enjoying the saw and the digital blade height adjuster looks to be a brilliant feature.

Really good to see you like the saw so much and, most importantly, you enjoy using it! Looking forward to the joints vids.
