For all 10MW Plus members

In this one I make a drilling guide for a router jig, and I do it without a drill press or pillar drill. Enjoy!

Another fantastic vid leveraging your knowledge and experience. Again helping all of us get the most out of what we have, rather than spending stupid amounts of money trying to find a commercial solution (which most of the time doesn't work well in the first place).

These vids (like the pocket money parallel guides and such) helped open my mind to different ways of solving problems, building a new set of methods for quick jigs and such. You've probably saved me 10 years and many grey hairs figuring this all out on my own!

Plus the personal satisfaction that comes from figuring out a solution, rather than just spending more money.

Thanks Alan! I think I probably have enough great hairs for all of us, lol! 😂 But I agree, it is satisfying to be able to make these things yourself. 👍

Hi Peter

Thanks for this, almost feels like a video just for me.

Already made mine and works great. Just need to buy the sleeve bearings but wow the cost of them.

On another note if i wanted to extend the number of shelf pin holes you make what is best practice to move the jig in your opinion.

No problem Neil! Yes, was chatting to someone today who said they had to pay about £6/bearing for something they’re making! You think they should be pennies, but they’re not! For these sleeve bearings you can probably use any steel tube with a 5mm bore - you just need to make them as long as you can fit in 👍

As for extending the shelf-pin holes, then this jig with a 5mm drill bit would act as a reference for the last hole in the row, clamp the jig and remove the bit and drill away! 👍

I still feel awful/responsible for mentioning that terrible round aluminum drill guide thing. I didn't realize you bought a new bit, is the one that got scratched up not usable? My UJK 20mm bit that got all scratched is still usable, just doesn't look good like it used to.

It’s no problem Paul - pretty sure you did mention it, I went ahead anyway and messed it up completely! It’s only the shank, but a bit lumpy when it’s in a drill block! 👍

Bushings ordered from Amazon via the links

I’ve ordered a second 30mm bushin - this jig is going to be a permanent addition to my 10MW multi-jig set-up 🧸

I ordered the Trend one that you put in the links, Peter. I don’t mind it becoming a permanent fixture as I don’t have a Trend router.. my most recent Bosch (1200AE) has an adaptor piece into which I screw something from a Katsu brass set of bushings
